Eager parents and supporters gathered at Thomas’s Battersea, for the annual TSF Music Scholars recital. The packed crowd was entertained by an impressive roster of 23 performers, who, between them, played 14 different instruments.
The audience and scholars were also entertained by TSF’s music patron, acclaimed jazz musician, MishaMullov-Abbado. Misha, who playeddouble-bass,congratulated the children on their passion for music, talked about his experience of composing and took questions from the crowd.
TSF’s Music Scholarship programme runs for up to four years, providing tuition, an instrument of choice and the chance to perform. All recipients of the award, selected via audition, are talented and highly motivated musicians who would not normally have the financial means for regular music tuition.
There are currently 29 TSF scholars rising to 34 in September 2018 playing a variety of instruments.
